Southie is a sandwich shop by day and small bites by night restaurant. Located on College Avenue in Oakland’s Rockridge District, it sits next door to its sister restaurant, the more upscale Wood Tavern. Southie serves fresh comfort food with locally sourced ingredients. The lunch menu features sandwiches such as Seared Ahi on focaccia ($13), Turkey Breast with avocado and chipotle aioli ($11) and Pulled Pork with slaw, pickled jalapeños and lime aioli ($10) as well a soup and a few salads. For dinner, the “Bigger Bites” section of the menu includes a Roasted Flat Iron Steak with yukon gold mashed potatoes ($18), Seared Atlantic Salmon with Israeli couscous($16) and Tagliatelle alla Carbonara ($13).
